Small winery located in the heart (Gernika) of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve.
The winery is equipped with the most modern technology for the production of Txakoli, aimed at enhancing the original characteristics obtained in the vineyard and with which our production team can achieve the máximum expression of the netive varieties Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Zuri Zerratie.
The Itsasmendi winery was born in 1994 through the grouping of several winemakers whose initial objective was the development of a txakoli with quality within the context of white wines in general and transmitting to the maximum the personal character of our production area. Recovering a socio-economic activity as important in Bizkaia as viticulture centuries ago. With three initial hectares in Muskiz, Bakio and Mendata, a winery with a capacity of 25,000 ltrs is created in Muskiz. In 2003, the Gernika facilities were moved. Highlighting these years not only for the good acceptance of its Txakoli Itsasmendi among specialized press, restaurateurs and consumers, but also for its capacity for innovation in the realization of innovative products.
